DISPATCH FROM A FUNERAL

Death is an unnatural thing.

It is a soul mate
wrapped in a shroud of
disquiet and tears.

It is a fickle friend
who chastens life with non existence while declaring,
“You are my best and most enduring part.”

  8. Thank you all for taking the time to comment. My grandmother took a turn for the worse and died this past week, so death and dying are heavy on my mind. She was the center of our family life. It is strange, however, that this has been the best visit that I have had with my family, since I left home. I'd like to credit my grandmother for that. -Finally
